New Details on the Murder Case of a 7-Year-Old Girl
The investigative department of the Lori regional office of the National Security Service has completed the pre-trial investigation into the murder of a 7-year-old girl, as reported by the NSS press service.
It was previously reported that on June 21, 2019, a call had been received regarding the strangulation of a 7-year-old child in the village of Hartagyu in Lori Province.
The criminal case revealed that between 16:00 and 18:00 on June 21, 2019, a 30-year-old woman, with the intent to unlawfully take a life, pressed her hands around the neck of her minor daughter, born in 2011, and strangled her to death in their home.
According to the findings from a stationary psychiatric examination ordered in the criminal case, the 30-year-old woman did not have a history of mental illness. However, when committing the offense, she was found to be suffering from "organic disorders of personality and behavior, as a result of brain dysfunction, characterized by changes in personality and temporary disturbances in consciousness/mental activity." Therefore, she should be recognized as insane.
Based on the combination of gathered evidence, a decision has been made to impose medical coercive measures on the individual who committed a socially dangerous act while in a state of insanity.
The criminal case, along with the accusatory conclusion, has been sent to the prosecutor overseeing the legality of the pre-investigation.
