At today’s government meeting, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan discussed the creation of alternative options for overcoming poverty. He stated, “We are giving money to 1000 families, providing livestock, offering feed, we are providing everything necessary and we say that we are giving this to you so that you can overcome your poverty through your own work.”

This statement refers to a decision made during the meeting, which aims to create opportunities for impoverished families to escape poverty. A total of 615 million drams will be allocated from the state budget for this program.

“We are making it clear to our public that there is simply no alternative to overcoming poverty other than through work,” said Pashinyan. He also noted that there remains a perception that there should be certain individuals affiliated with the authorities who distribute money, rice, and oil. “That oil was distributed not to improve people’s poverty, but to keep them in poverty, so that they could be taken to polling places during the next elections to vote.
