Vanetsyan Appoints Coach Without Authority: Details

RA Prime Minister's advisor Mesrop Arakelyan stated on his Facebook page: "THE PRESIDENT OF THE HFF DOES NOT HAVE THE RIGHT TO APPOINT THE HEAD COACH OF THE NATIONAL TEAM. Today, on 06.11.2019 at 18:51, information was posted on the official website of the HFF stating that the president of the HFF has appointed the head coach of the national football team.

According to paragraph 39 of the statute, the authority to appoint the head coach belongs exclusively to the executive committee of the federation. The statute adopted by the assembly on 26.06.2019 has not yet come into legal force, as it has not been approved by the state registry.

Thus, the appointment of the head coach of the Armenian national team has no legal power and is null and void. President of the HFF Internal Audit and Compliance Committee, M. Arakelyan."
