Abraham Khashmanyan Appointed Head Coach of Armenia National Team
Abraham Khashmanyan has been appointed as the head coach of the Armenia national team. The contract is set to last until November 30, 2020. This was reported by the official website of the Football Federation of Armenia (FFA).
The President of the FFA, Arthur Vanetsyan, wished Khashmanyan success in his new role.
“I have given preference to one of the most experienced coaches in Armenia. I wish him success. During 2019, the Armenia national team achieved several impressive victories. I hope that under the leadership of the new coach, our team will once again delight the fans,” he stated.
Abraham Mikayel Khashmanyan was born on November 11, 1967, in Yerevan. As a player, he played for the following clubs: Ararat Yerevan (1984-1990), Kotayk (1991-1992), Shirak (1992-1993), HMHM (1994), Homenetmen Beirut (1994-1996), Yerevan (1997-1998), Erebuni (1999), and Mika (2000-2001).
During his coaching career, he has led the following teams: Kilikia (2008-2010), Gandzasar (2010-2012), Ararat (2012-2014, 2018-2019), Armenia U-19 (2013), Armenia U-21 (2013-2014), and Alashkert (2014-2017, 2017-2018, 2019).
Achievements as a coach include: double champion of Armenia (2015-2016, 2016-2017), Armenian Cup winner (2018/2019), and Armenian Super Cup winner (2016).
