Robbery at a Kindergarten in Yerevan Uncovered
The Investigative Committee of Armenia has revealed several details regarding a robbery that occurred at one of the kindergartens in Yerevan, leading to the arrest of one individual.
According to reports from the information and public relations department of the Investigative Committee, preliminary data indicates that on October 11, 2019, at 2:35 AM, the director of Kindergarten No. 116 reported that at approximately 11:00 PM on October 10, an unidentified person entered the kindergarten located in the 7th district of Nor-Nork and stole thermometers, syringes, and pills, causing property damage to the institution.
A criminal case has been initiated under Article 177, Part 2, Point 3 of the RA Criminal Code. Kindergarten No. 116 has been recognized as the victim in this case.
As a result of immediate investigative actions and operational-search measures, various circumstances of the incident, including the identity of the suspect, a resident of Yerevan born in 1973, have been clarified.
According to the investigation, at around 11:00 PM on October 10, the man born in 1973 illegally entered the administrative building of the kindergarten with the intent to commit significant theft of another's property using technical means. He stole thermometers and pills from the medical center, after which he opened the entrance to the accountant's office using technical means, searching for valuable items. However, upon hearing the night guard's shouts, he fled the scene.
Based on sufficient evidence obtained, the 46-year-old resident of Yerevan has been charged under Article 176, Part 2, Point 3 of the RA Criminal Code. A motion has been submitted to the court for the selection of detention as a preventive measure, which has been granted. The preliminary investigation is ongoing.
