All Polyclinics in Yerevan Provided with Seasonal Flu Vaccine
All polyclinics in Yerevan are now equipped with the seasonal flu vaccine. This was announced by the public relations department of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Armenia.
“If you are in any of the risk groups listed below, please contact your registered polyclinic and get vaccinated against seasonal influenza: pregnant women, children aged 6 months to 5 years, individuals over 65 years old, people with diabetes, those with chronic diseases of the respiratory organs, cardiovascular system, liver, or kidneys, pediatricians, family doctors, therapists, nurses, emergency room staff, ambulance, resuscitation, ear, nose, throat departments' medical personnel, epidemiologists, and assistant epidemiologists; individuals subject to the first call-up in 2020; organizations caring for the elderly and disabled; individuals in closed communities such as orphanage residents and staff, students and staff of boarding schools, individuals in mental health centers and their staff.
At the same time, we inform that the vaccination distribution process continues in the regions. Starting from November 11, vaccinations against seasonal influenza will be available to all individuals in risk groups throughout the republic. It should be noted that the flu is an acute infectious disease that spreads through coughing, sneezing, or direct contact. Symptoms of the flu (fever and chills, cough, sore throat, headache, muscle aches, and fatigue) appear suddenly and can last from a few days to several weeks. The best protection against seasonal flu is vaccination,” the statement reads.
