1.9 Billion Dram Allocated for Providing Housing to Orphanage Graduates
The Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs of the Republic of Armenia will issue housing purchase certificates to approximately 300 graduates of orphanages, fulfilling a commitment that the state has held since 2003. This project was approved today by the government of Armenia.
According to the project presented by the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, through the establishment of appropriate legal, financial, and organizational mechanisms, more favorable housing conditions will be created for the 300 graduates of orphanages, along with psychological support. The preliminary calculations indicate that a budget of 1.9 billion dram is necessary for this initiative.
The housing purchase certificates will allow orphanage graduates to buy apartments within the territory of the Republic of Armenia valued at no more than 6.3 million dram. If beneficiaries invest their own funds, they are entitled to purchase properties that exceed this amount.
Additionally, according to the decision, beneficiaries of the program will be prioritized for inclusion in state employment programs, as orphanage graduates are considered particularly vulnerable in the labor market due to their often inadequate education and skills.
