Two Armenian Young Men Hospitalized in Russia

On November 4, during renovation works at the number 18 maternity hospital in the Nevsky district of St. Petersburg, the elevator cable was severed, resulting in two workers falling into a shaft.

According to the press service of the St. Petersburg Investigative Committee, "The cable was cut during the replacement of elevator equipment amidst construction and other works, after which the elevator cabin fell, causing serious harm to the health of the two workers."

As reported by Fontanka, both victims are from Armenia. One is 28 years old, while the other is 35. The injured are in serious condition with multiple open and closed fractures, as well as injuries to internal organs.

In connection with the incident, the Russian Investigative Committee has opened a criminal case on the charge of "violating safety regulations during construction work." Measures are being taken to clarify all circumstances surrounding the incident.
