Kia Driver Dies Following Explosion that Killed Married Couple During Distillation

On October 27, a brutal and tragic incident occurred in the Aragatsotn province. An explosion happened near one of the houses in the village of Antaratut. Police and rescuers discovered the bodies of Norik Madoyan and his wife, Varduhi Madoyan, in the yard of house number 3 on 2nd Street in the mentioned village.

According to G. Shamshyan, the explosion was caused when the couple connected a rubber hose to the gas cylinder of a parked Kia vehicle with the license plate 10 NN 110 in front of their house and extended it to connect to a home distillation apparatus set up in their yard, attempting to start a fire. Unfortunately, this led to an explosion. The stone fence of the house collapsed, and windows were shattered and thrown several meters away. The woman’s body was completely dismembered, while the man’s body was separated into two parts.

As of today, November 5, the driver of the Kia, 74-year-old Alexey Avanesyan, a resident of Yerevan, died at the Burn Treatment Center in Yerevan.
