VIDEO: Dmitry Selyuk on Footballer Erik Vardanyan Transferred to Sochi
Football agent Dmitry Selyuk has praised the Armenian national team midfielder Erik Vardanyan. Since last week, the midfielder has remained one of the main topics in Armenian football.
During the weekend, Russian media reported that the 21-year-old player had transferred from FC Pyunik to Russian club Sochi. It is noted that he has signed a three-year contract, which will come into effect on January 1, 2020, and that Selyuk represented him in the deal. Selyuk told Russian media about the transfer, recalling that Vardanyan was a graduate of FC Barcelona.
“Vardanyan is today the most talented young footballer in Armenia. I have already worked with two Armenian footballers, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Aras Ozbilis. Now I am handling Erik's affairs, who is a player of the Armenian national team and plays as an attacking midfielder.
“To the Sochi fans who may not know, he played at Barcelona's academy from ages 11 to 16, not at some Moscow 'fake' academy, but at the actual club. A player who studied at Barcelona for five years knows how to play good football, at the very least. Some 'couch' experts may express their dissatisfaction, but believe me, Erik will look 100% much better and more qualified than many Russian passport-holding players and pricey foreigners. Just watch and envy Sochi,” he said.
Selyuk also mentioned that Vardanyan had several other offers, referencing interest from Lokomotiv and Ural, as well as interest from the Czech Republic. He emphasized that Sochi stood out as they made the best offer, presenting their desires clearly and straightforwardly. He also stated that Sochi acquired Vardanyan for much less money than what Lokomotiv had proposed.
