VIDEO: Abuses at Sevan-Hrazdan Water Supply Company
The General Division for Combating Organized Crime of the Police has uncovered yet another corruption-related crime based on information received by the Anti-Corruption and Economic Crimes Department.
Evidence has been gathered indicating that former officials of the State Property Management Department, the State Committee on Water Economy, and the Sevan-Hrazdan Water Supply Company (SHWSC) committed abuses due to personal interests, using their official positions contrary to the interests of their service.
In particular, preliminary data suggests that between 2012 and 2013, they organized the process of disposing of the 6000-meter-long and 1420 mm diameter discharge pipeline of the first grade Aravshat pumping station, which belonged to SHWSC, during which they created and submitted a forged summary report serving as an official document regarding the weight, length, and wear of the property for the purpose of property valuation.
As a result, approximately 2.086 tons of pipeline was registered as 1.680 tons and was disposed of to private companies. Consequently, the state suffered particularly large damages of around 136,000,000 drams, leading to serious consequences due to negligence.
A criminal case has been initiated at the police regarding this matter, which has been transferred to the Investigative Committee for further inquiry.
