Emergency Situations Ministry to Acquire New Helicopter, Says Felix Tsolakyan
For several days now, there have been almost no fires due to rain, said the Minister of Emergency Situations, Felix Tsolakyan, during a briefing with reporters in the National Assembly. “Indeed, this year has been unprecedented in terms of the number of fires. We have had nearly 3,000 more fires compared to ordinary years. We need to prepare for next year’s fires. However, we have an issue with technical re-equipment. This year, we procured hand tools worth about 260 million, which we previously did not have. We are awaiting a new batch from both Russian and Japanese suppliers. We will receive 21 Japanese and 26 Russian vehicles. If they arrive on time, we will be quite well-equipped. We will also have a helicopter. To keep costs low, we will solve this issue in cooperation with the Ministry of Defense. This concerns new helicopters,” said the minister.
