A Large Armenian Community Exists in London: Jamiroquai Band Arrives in Yerevan
Jamiroquai band has just arrived in Yerevan. The group was welcomed at the "Zvartnots" airport by journalists and fans.
"The flight went very well. The concert in Yerevan will be filled with surprises for the Armenian audience," said the band's frontman, Jay Kay, in a conversation with reporters.
In response to Sputnik Armenia's question about whether he had heard about Armenia before coming here, Kay answered, "Yes, I've heard a lot, because there is a large Armenian community in London."
It should be noted that the band has arrived in Yerevan as part of the Silk Note festival and will also perform its first solo concert here.
Jamiroquai's concert in Yerevan will take place on November 6 at the Karen Demirchyan Sports and Concert Complex. The band, known for its future funk style, has shaken the music world and has become one of the most successful performers on the planet.
As a Grammy winner and a Brit Award-nominated group, they have sold over 26 million albums worldwide and entered the Guinness World Records for the best-selling funk album of all time.
It is also noted that the international Silk Note Festival is organized through a joint initiative of the "My Step" foundation and the NGO "Cultural Tourism Development Association." The festival's aim is to promote cultural tourism in Armenia, attract international media attention to our country, and ultimately achieve economic growth. All proceeds from the festival will be directed towards the activation of cultural life in the regions of Armenia.
