‘Joghvorud’. Tensions Rise in Ministry of Emergency Situations as State Oversight Service Conducts Checks
‘Joghvorud’ newspaper reports. According to the newspaper’s sources, the State Oversight Service has begun inspections at the Ministry of Emergency Situations, which are expected to last about a week. On October 25, the newspaper informed that employees of the ministry had filed a complaint against Minister Felix Tsolakyan to Prime Minister Pashinyan, expressing discontent over allegations that the minister has associates within the ministry.
In turn, Tsolakyan requested the Prime Minister to come to the ministry to conduct inspections related to the credibility of the complaint. According to the newspaper's sources, the atmosphere in the ministry is currently very tense, and Felix Tsolakyan has instructed that all necessary documents be presented to the employees of the State Oversight Service. The matter is complicated by the fact that Tsolakyan himself previously headed the State Oversight Service, and now that agency is conducting checks in the ministry he leads.
It is worth noting that there are rumors suggesting that one reason for today's scrutiny might be linked to Tsolakyan's earlier endorsement of Arthur Vanetsyan as a candidate for the head of the National Security Service.
