Samvel Aleksanyan Issues Gesture to Nikol Pashinyan
On November 1, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan participated in the opening of the Asa Garment factory, owned by former MP and businessman Samvel Aleksanyan.
The event was also attended by the President of the National Assembly Ararat Mirzoyan and Deputy Minister of Economy Avag Avanesyan. Samvel Aleksanyan was present as well.
In his speech, Avanesyan noted that, according to analysis, the textile sector has the potential to increase export volumes to 1 billion dollars within the next ten years, and such initiatives will contribute to realizing this forecast.
Nikol Pashinyan wrote on his Facebook page that the garment production facilities will provide around 3,000 job opportunities. It is worth mentioning that a reporter captured a banner in the factory displaying the well-known phrase, “Armenia is my home, the people are my family.” Pashinyan previously stated that this should be the rallying cry for every Armenian and called on people to join a flash mob on his Facebook page.
The purpose of the flash mob was for people to write on paper, “Armenia is my home. The people are my family,” take a photo, and post it on their own Facebook pages. To facilitate the distribution of such banners, a decision was adopted during a government meeting to allocate 48 million 900 thousand drams to the Prime Minister's Office.
