Number of Senators Supporting the Armenian Genocide Resolution in the U.S. Senate Increases
The number of supporters for the Armenian Genocide resolution in the United States Senate has reached 19. Political analyst Suren Sargsyan announced this on his Facebook page.
“In the upper chamber of Congress, the Senate, the number of supporters for our resolution has become 19. Today, 2 more Republican senators joined, Mitt Romney and John Cornyn,” Sargsyan wrote.
On October 29, the U.S. House of Representatives passed the resolution recognizing the Armenian Genocide with a significant majority during a vote. Out of the participating congress members, 405 voted in favor, while 11 voted against. The similar resolution in the Senate is expected to be discussed in November.
