City Hall Has Had No Disagreements with Viktor Mnatsakanyan, Deputy Mayor

The Deputy Mayor of Yerevan, Haik Sargsyan, stated that the city hall has had no disagreements with Viktor Mnatsakanyan, the head of the Central administrative district, who recently submitted his resignation. The resignation of Mnatsakanyan is not related to Mikayel Minasyan (the former son-in-law of ex-President Serzh Sargsyan).

This information was shared today, October 29, during a press conference in the parliament by Deputy Mayor Sargsyan. He recalled that Mnatsakanyan, who worked in this position for nearly a year, has mentioned the reasons for his resignation, adding that there is hardly anything to add to that. The city hall has had no disagreements with him, nor have there been any comments regarding his work.

“He announced that he wants to be useful to his country and city by engaging in something else. That is his decision. I can say that he is a professional and has performed quite well in his position,” stated Sargsyan.

Reporters asked Sargsyan if Mnatsakanyan's resignation is connected to the recent political statements by his godfather, Mikayel Minasyan. “Mikayel Minasyan's declarations are in no way related to the Yerevan City Hall, so I’m sorry, but I cannot comment on such statements,” Sargsyan replied. It is worth noting that Mnatsakanyan has previously stated that “being a godson of Minasyan is not a stigma.”
