SATCM Conducts Inspections in Shirak Province

The State Service for Food Safety of the Republic of Armenia has completed its supervisory work in the egg market of the Shirak province.

According to the Food Safety Service, continuous monitoring was carried out in 12 egg production organizations and among 181 enterprises engaged in sales.

In 9 enterprises involved in egg production (A/J Patvakan Torosyan, A/J Gurgen Derzyan, A/J Aramaïs Grigoryan, A/J Sedrak Gasparyan, A/J Suren Greyan, A/J Levon Chumaryan, A/J Aghasi Hambardzumyan, A/J David Manukyan, A/J Hovhannes Greyan), violations and non-compliance issues were identified (inadequate sanitary-hygienic conditions of poultry farms, safety of marketed eggs, lack of documents confirming preventive vaccinations, diagnostic tests, and their implementation, absence of veterinary-sanitary safety documents for used veterinary medications, feeds, and feed additives, non-compliance of egg storage and packaging conditions with established norms, absence of documents regarding disinfection, rodent and pest control measures, and non-compliance with egg preservation conditions).

The inspectors of the Food Safety Service issued directives to eliminate the identified violations and established monitoring for their implementation.

Currently, A/J Aramaïs Grigoryan and A/J Sedrak Gasparyan have fully complied with the directives. Furthermore, the import of poultry from A/J Gurgen Derzyan has been forbidden due to the failure to ensure quarantine conditions.

During the continuous monitoring of 181 points in the sales network, numerous violations were also discovered concerning eggs and dairy products. Specifically, 537 expired and unidentified origin eggs and 31 boxes of expired dairy products were removed from sale and destroyed. Additionally, 153 improperly labeled eggs were also taken off the market. Directives to eliminate violations were given to 76 enterprises (as there was a lack of documents confirming the safety of eggs and dairy products).

In the last month in Shirak province, agricultural large and small cattle numbering 8866 have undergone blood serological testing. Blood samples that tested positive for brucellosis were regularly sent to the “Republican Veterinary and Sanitary-Laboratory Services Center” State Non-Commercial Organization for re-testing after verification at the provincial laboratory. Brucellosis was diagnosed in 171 animals, which were separated by communities and farms and subjected to compulsory slaughter under the supervision of inspectors from the Service.
