Man Stabbed by Acquaintance in Gyumri Under Influence of Alcohol: Details
The Armenian police reported that on October 24, at 7:30 PM, the Mush police department received a report from a hospital about a 55-year-old man who was admitted with a penetrating stab wound and in a shock state.
Upon arriving at the hospital, police were informed by the doctor that the victim was unable to provide a statement.
As a result of operational and investigative measures taken to clarify the circumstances of the incident, at 7:50 PM, police in Gyumri apprehended a 40-year-old woman without a permanent residence on suspicion of causing bodily harm on Garegin Nzhdeh Street. She confessed that around 7:00 PM, while under the influence of alcohol, she had stabbed her acquaintance with a kitchen knife during an argument, causing the injury.
The degree of the woman's intoxication was verified. She was presented to the investigative body and arrested.
On October 25, at 5:05 AM, the hospital reported that the man had died without regaining consciousness. A forensic examination has been scheduled. The circumstances are under investigation, and the inquiry is ongoing.
