Gyumri Airport Ready to Serve Any International Flight: Hakob Chagharyan

Hakob Chagharyan, advisor to the Prime Minister on civil aviation, wrote on his Facebook page: "Today, I visited the Shirak Airport in Gyumri on a working trip. I had not been there for a long time, and I was very pleasantly surprised by everything I saw today. Firstly, the airport's surroundings were well-maintained. The area known for its 'crowdedness' and impassable lines is now open, organized, and green. I know that Sofia Hovsepyan has an invaluable contribution to this with her boundless positive energy.

At the entrance, I was greeted by the airport's administrator, Armine Abrahamyan, with a pass. From the very first impression, she was worthy of sympathy—a young, knowledgeable individual who guided me throughout the visit. The results of the completed and ongoing works are clearly visible in the photos.

The airport building has been neatly renovated, with glass panels referred to as 'Euro' glass. The building now has a heating system. The security and border control checkpoints, as you can see, are new and equipped with all the latest technology.

When the airport director, as per routine, placed her mobile phone on the security line and went through the metal detector, I understood that this is a standard of order that everyone adheres to, including the airport management and security staff. I noticed their checks, which I saw from behind the windows when I had already exited the airport building to the parking area.

The parking lot has been enlarged and improved. The connection between the old and new asphalt is visible in the images, but what stands out is that our eyes no longer notice the unevenness of the old and new asphalt that had become commonplace. Everything is smooth and of high quality.

The fleet of specialized vehicles at the airport is impressive—there is everything necessary, and all of it is of high quality from renowned manufacturers. I would especially mention the fire truck, considered one of the most modern and efficient in the world, as well as the specially designated high-standard firefighting gear.

A new dispatch tower and a new observation center have been established. As a result, it can be confidently affirmed that Gyumri's Shirak Airport is ready to serve any international flight with high standards."
