According to Tert.am, former National Assembly president Ara Babloyan has been involved as a suspect in the preliminary investigation of a criminal case launched under part 1 of Article 300 of the RA Criminal Code at the Special Investigative Service today, related to the suspected usurpation of the powers of the Constitutional Court.

It is noteworthy that on October 21, Arsen Babayan, the former deputy head of the National Assembly's staff, was arrested on suspicion of official forgery.

According to the Special Investigative Service, during the preliminary investigation of the criminal case launched under part 1 of Article 300 of the Criminal Code for usurpation of authority, factual data have been obtained regarding the misconduct of officials who, based on group interests, committed official forgeries both personally and through employees who are not officials during the process of the former president of the Constitutional Court, Gagik Harutyunyan, relinquishing his powers.

Considering that a new apparent crime has been revealed, a new criminal case has been initiated under part 1 of Article 314 of the Criminal Code concerning official forgery, which has been joined with the case regarding the usurpation of authority.
