Why Are Staff Members of the Investigative Committee Visiting the National Assembly?

The head of the Public Relations Department of the RA Investigative Committee, Naira Harutyunyan, made a post on her Facebook page regarding the purpose of the visit by employees of the forensic main department to the National Assembly.

“By the instruction of the President of the RA Investigative Committee, Hayk Grigoryan, for the purpose of increasing the effectiveness of the organization of the fight against crime, as well as for organizing joint work with citizens, employees of the RA IC’s special tasks and organizational-analytical forensic main department met today with representatives of the ‘Enlightened Armenia’ faction at the National Assembly of RA. During the meeting, issues were discussed regarding cooperation in the framework of working with citizens, as well as ensuring cooperation during the acceptance of citizens in the factions of the National Assembly and facilitating the participation of Committee representatives.

Also discussed were matters related to the provision of information and statistics in the case of legislative initiatives concerning pre-trial proceedings, particularly regarding issues that require legal gaps or regulations, especially in relation to corruption-related crimes, and presenting such cases to the faction. The need for comprehensive measures to enhance the effectiveness of pre-trial investigations was also addressed.

This week, employees of the RA IC’s special tasks and organizational-analytical forensic main department will also meet with representatives of the ‘My Step’ and ‘Prosperous Armenia’ factions of the National Assembly of RA.
