Well-Performing Ministers Should be Adequately Compensated: Manaseryan

Well-performing ministers should be adequately compensated. This was stated by economist Tatul Manaseryan during a meeting with journalists on October 22, commenting on reports that the Prime Minister of Armenia has secretly increased the salaries of ministers.

According to him, if officials have demonstrated their capabilities, it should be reflected in their compensation. “However, there are individuals within the state apparatus who should have been removed long ago. This pertains to many sectors, including science and education. Due to the presence of corrupt and unprofessional individuals, as well as an indifferent attitude, science is in a critical state,” he noted, adding that the leadership of the Academy of Sciences also deserves criticism for being inactive and attributing the achievements of individual scientists to itself.

It should be reminded that the salaries of ministers, deputy ministers, and chief secretaries of ministries were significantly increased by a secret order from Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. The order was issued in July of this year. Authorities have not yet denied this scandalous information.
