Transparency of Pashinyan Only Pertains to Barbecue Festivals, Actions are Secretive, Sharmazanov

The fact that, through a secret decree, the salaries of ministers have been increased by 1.5 to 2 times indicates that the Prime Minister operates in secrecy. His claims of needing transparency seem to relate only to barbecue festivals and wine parties, which is concerning.

This statement was made by the spokesperson of the Republican Party of Armenia, Eduard Sharmazanov, during a meeting with journalists today, October 22.

“Secondly, Nikol Pashinyan claimed there are 3 million prime ministers. Has he asked those three million whether the salaries of ministers should be increased? I am not against the increase in ministerial salaries, but has Pashinyan consulted with the people gathered in public spaces?” Sharmazanov noted. “I think not. The next challenge is not to turn Armenia into a bastion of democracy, but to transform it from democracy into a dictatorial totalitarian state,” he added.

He drew parallel between Nikol Pashinyan and Adolf Hitler, pointing out that Hitler once claimed his movement was Christian, while Pashinyan today speaks of love and solidarity, and declared there would be no vendetta: “However, we see today that all those who do not comply with the directives of Nikol Pashinyan’s government become victims of political persecution.

We are dealing with the cases of Hrayr Tovmasyan and Robert Kocharyan. We learned yesterday that Arsen Babayan has been arrested. I am convinced that this arrest is yet another episode of the 'Hrayr Tovmasyan' operation. It is an overt psychological pressure on the President of the Constitutional Court and is fabricated. Especially, one of the three attorneys pointed out that the article under which Babayan is charged falls under the amnesty law,” Sharmazanov said.
