Large Tunnel Discovered in Kurdish Area of Syria
A tunnel has been discovered in the Ras al-Ain region, which was captured as a result of Turkey's "Operation Peace Spring" in northeastern Syria, reports ermenihaber.am. According to the Turkish state news agency, the tunnel, dug by Kurdish militants, leads as a secret passageway up to the Turkish border.
It is noted that the entrance of the tunnel is located in a storage area adjacent to the center of Ras al-Ain. The tunnel features multiple entrances, ventilation holes, and resting areas. The entrance to the tunnel has a depth of 13 meters, a height of 3 meters, and a width of 2.5 meters.
According to the source, the Kurdish People's Protection Units (YPG), in order to resist possible Turkish military operations and conduct surprise attacks, have constructed a tunnel network in the regions of Manbij, Kobani, Tal Abyad, Ras al-Ain, Sariyn, Qamishli, and Malikiyeh.
