Deputy Minister on Tailings Dam Accident in Syunik

Today in the National Assembly, the Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, Lilia Shushanyan, provided details about the tailings dam leak incident in Syunik.

"At this moment, we can confirm that an accident has occurred," she stated. Shushanyan explained that the regulatory body is currently investigating the issue thoroughly, both to identify the circumstances leading to the problem and to assess the damage caused.

Regarding accountability, the deputy minister noted that the operator responsible for this issue acknowledges their responsibility.
