Vanetsyan Accepts Gyulbudaghyan's Resignation
The head coach of the Armenian national football team, Armen Gyulbudaghyan, has resigned from his position. According to the specialist, the reason for his resignation is that the Armenian team failed to qualify for the Euro 2020 final stage.
“I have been in the position of head coach of the Armenian national team for a year. During this time, there have been moments of both joy and sorrow related to the team’s performances. The qualifying round is not yet over, but I have made the tough decision to leave the head coach position because I have not been able to meet the hopes of Armenian football fans by advancing the team to the final stage of the European Championship. Our chances now are only theoretical, and although such a task was not originally set for me, I have always felt the responsibility. I want to thank the representatives of the coaching staff who have accompanied me on this interesting and difficult journey, the medical and support personnel, the players, the president of the Football Federation of Armenia, and the entire staff, who have always supported us and created good working conditions. I thank all the fans who supported us during the toughest moments,” said Gyulbudaghyan.
The president of the Football Federation of Armenia, Arthur Vanetsyan, expressed gratitude to Armen Gyulbudaghyan for his work. “In the past year, Armen Gyulbudaghyan has demonstrated himself as a high-level professional and has also stood out for his personal qualities. It was very difficult for me to accept the coach's resignation, but during our conversation, Armen Gyulbudaghyan did not change his decision. I am confident that the groundwork laid by our coach over the past year will yield results in the future. I thank Armen Gyulbudaghyan for his dedicated work, and I am sure we will have opportunities for cooperation in the future,” said Arthur Vanetsyan.
