Turkish Tanks and Armored Vehicles Reinforced with Grids in Syria
According to photographs that have surfaced online, American-made M60A3 tanks have begun to be equipped with anti-cumulative screens. However, these grids appear flimsy and are unlikely to effectively neutralize anti-tank grenade launcher missiles, not to mention guided missiles. At the same time, they only cover part of the turret, while the thinner parts of the chassis remain entirely unprotected, reports "RG. Rossiyskoye Oruzhie."
The M60A3, together with the Leopard 2A4, forms the basis of the armored strike force for Turkish operations. Reports indicate that modernized vehicles with active protection systems have been directed to Syria, but it is likely that this refers only to units meant to be tested in real combat conditions.
