Claims of Arson in Ijevan Fires, Says Tsolakyan
Yesterday, Armenia recorded a total of 50 fires, raising concerns for the Ministry of Emergency Situations. This statement was made during today’s government session by the Minister of Emergency Situations, Felix Tsolakyan.
He noted that fires continue in Berd and other parts of Tavush, particularly in forested areas. Tsolakyan also reported that fires are recurring near shooting ranges. According to the minister, while it is still unclear how fires near shooting ranges start, other cases remain ambiguous.
“Today, someone has written that the fires in Ijevan are being deliberately set, claiming various reasons. This is becoming somewhat problematic,” said Tsolakyan.
The minister pointed out that we are currently in the driest period for trees, and they have been fortunate that grassy areas in forests are burning, while the trees remain unharmed.
