Change in Vehicle Customs Procedures from October 21

From October 21, 2019, during the customs clearance of vehicles classified under customs code 8703 imported into Armenia via the Armenian-Georgian border, the designated customs authority and location will be the Northern Customs Office located in Gyumri, provided these vehicles are not transported in containers or by car carrier trailers, regardless of their country of export. This information is reported by the Information and Public Relations Department of the RA State Revenue Committee.

In such cases, customs operations following the completion of transit (temporary storage, declaration by product or passenger declaration, customs procedures or exemption as personal use goods) will be carried out at the Northern Customs Office.

The committee also informs that vehicles transported via the Armenian-Iranian border can be relocated to the Southern Customs Office located in Sisian or the customs office in Gyumri for further customs clearance upon the importer's request.

In all other cases, particularly when transported in containers or by car carrier trailers, from October 21, 2019, during the customs clearance of vehicles classified under customs code 8703 imported into Armenia, the designated customs authority and location will be determined based on information regarding the destination in the transport documents, or in the absence of such information, at the customs office preferred by the declarant.

Customs operations related to the conclusion of transit, temporary storage, declaration by product or passenger declaration, customs procedures, or exemption as personal use goods for vehicles classified under customs code 8703 that were cleared via the 'customs transit' procedure before October 21, 2019, will be conducted at the specified customs authority and location indicated in the transit declaration.
