VIDEO: Three Citizens Detained on Suspicion of Drug Possession and Trafficking

The police have detained three citizens on suspicion of illegally possessing, using, and trafficking drugs. This information was provided by the police information service.

Officers discovered and detained a 19-year-old resident of Yerevan on Mashtots Avenue. The suspicion involves illegal drug possession, use, and trafficking. A personal search revealed a substance resembling marijuana weighing over 7 grams.

Subsequent actions taken by the Criminal Investigation Unit of Nor Nork provided evidence that the detained individual had purchased the substance resembling drugs for 20,000 drams from a 33-year-old man living in the capital. The latter was also discovered and detained for questioning. During his personal search, more than 10 packages with substances resembling marijuana were found, weighing a total of over 65 grams.

As a result, new information emerged indicating that the packages of the substance resembling marijuana found on the man had been purchased again from another 33-year-old resident of Yerevan for 10,000 drams each. This individual was also located and detained for questioning. By court order, his vehicle was searched, which led to the discovery of more than 80 grams of greenish substances, as well as over 5 grams of a plant substance. According to the detainee, these are marijuana.

He stated that he had acquired the substances resembling drugs from a 49-year-old man living in Kanaker. A search was also conducted at this man's home by court order, where substances resembling cannabis seeds, containers with brown and green traces, and a finely chopped dried substance with a specific odor weighing over 4 grams were found.

Examinations have been scheduled. The pre-investigation of the criminal case is ongoing.
