Photos: Anna Hakobyan Knows Where to Wear What
The photograph of Anna Hakobyan, the wife of the Prime Minister of Armenia, alongside Catholicos Karekin II in Geneva has been at the center of numerous discussions and debates for the third consecutive day.
The reason for this was that the Prime Minister's wife was wearing a long evening dress that exposed her shoulders and legs in the photo with the Catholicos, as reported by Armenpress.
This led to perceptions that the attire was inappropriate for a meeting with the church leader. Some individuals went beyond reasonable criticism and directed overt insults at her.
Such criticism would be appropriate and justified if the lady had worn such clothing during an official meeting with the Catholicos. However, both the Prime Minister's wife and the Catholicos attended the annual charity evening of the Swiss Red Cross in Geneva on that day, and the photograph was taken during that event.
Prior to the publication of the photo, both the press services of the Prime Minister’s wife and the Mother See had informed about their participation in this evening. Of course, such high-society events require a special "dress code"—an evening gown.
Photographs and videos from the event confirm that the 600 guests also attended in evening attire.
Therefore, it should be noted that the discussions and comments surrounding the photo were taken out of context, and the uproar raised over a single image is merely a storm in a teacup.
Amidst all this noise, it is interesting to note that Mrs. Anna Hakobyan and the Catholicos meet quite frequently. This speaks volumes about the warmth of their relationship and mutual respect. It is noteworthy that in all joint photographs taken during their activities over the past year and a half, the lady has never violated any “dress code.”
Additionally, another event with the participation of Mrs. Anna Hakobyan and the Catholicos took place yesterday during the Impact Humanity television and film festival banquet and awards ceremony.
