‘Past’. The Secret Visit of the ‘Godfather’ of Transitional Justice to Armenia
‘Past’ newspaper reports: The legal situation in Armenia continues to be unclear, as representatives of the government, certain members of civil society, and the entire opposition alliance are engaged in promoting the notion that a crisis exists within the Constitutional Court, and that a resolution to this situation will only come with the resignation of Hrayr Tovmasyan.
According to a source wishing to remain anonymous, transitional justice expert Ruben Karanzan has recently arrived in Armenia. He is preparing a special report related to the justice sector of Armenia, and it is possible that small bits of information regarding this will be disseminated through governmental channels in the near future.
During his visit, he held meetings with Constitutional Court judge Vahe Grigoryan, who once proclaimed himself president of the court, and Justice Minister Rustam Badasyan.
