One of the Poisoned Students Remains Hospitalized, Others Discharged
Almost all of the approximately 25 children who were hospitalized for food poisoning at the Artashat Medical Center have been discharged. This was reported by armtimes.com. Currently, only one of the affected students remains in the hospital.
According to Haikuhi Hovakimyan, head of the center’s infectious disease department, as of 21:30 last night, the children had been discharged.
One student experienced a fever, which is why they were kept under medical supervision. The child had a temperature of 37.5 degrees but is now feeling better, with the fever having subsided and no nausea reported. They are expected to be discharged today.
“All the children had a small taste of pizza but didn’t eat much; only this one child ate a lot and therefore experienced some complications,” said Hovakimyan.
Recall that yesterday, around 10:30 AM, 25 students from Artashat’s Haikaz Jgnavorian High School No. 5 were transferred to the medical center diagnosed with food poisoning. Some were transported by ambulance, while others came with their parents.
The children noted that most had eaten pizza from the school cafeteria, with a few also consuming hot dogs and khachapuri. The students specified that many began to feel unwell right after eating the food.
According to the head of the center’s infectious disease department, the students’ condition was assessed as moderately severe at the time of transfer; no one was admitted to the hospital in critical condition. The poisoned students are aged 9 to 12. Samples for stool analysis have already been taken to determine what kind of infection could be identified.
