Injured Police Officer Suffers Brain Concussion: Details
Tonight, due to an incident on Azatutyun Avenue, the injured police officer (A. Hakobyan) is currently at St. Grigor Lusavorich Medical Center. The center's spokesperson, Tsovinar Nazaryan, informed Haiastani Zhamanak that the officer was transferred to them at 5 AM. "He arrived with a laceration on his head, soft tissue injury, and a brain concussion. His condition is currently assessed as satisfactory, and he is in the neurosurgery department," Khachatryan stated.
It is noteworthy that according to the police media service report, around 4:30 AM, police officers from the Arabkir police department's public security service noticed two individuals near the entrance of the 'Victory' park. Upon seeing the patrol car, the two individuals fled. The police pursued them and captured them on Azatutyun Avenue. The apprehended individuals resisted. During the altercation, one of them seized a service weapon from one of the officers and fired at another officer, also striking the other officer with the grip of the gun. The officers fled the scene.
As a result of the gunshot wound, a 38-year-old officer from the Arabkir police department, Tigran Arakelyan, has died. A criminal case has been initiated regarding the incident. Operational-investigative measures and investigative actions are underway to clarify all circumstances of the occurrence.
