Volkswagen Delays Decision to Build Factory in Turkey
Volkswagen has postponed its decision to build a factory in Turkey due to the Turkish military operations in Syria, according to Handelsblatt, citing its sources.
The German automotive conglomerate had been negotiating for several months about constructing a factory in the city of Izmir, Turkey. However, following the onset of Turkish operations in Syria, the company's leadership is hesitant to sign the construction agreement, the publication notes.
“We are closely monitoring the developments with great concern,” the company representatives stated.
