Mother Files Complaint with Police After Son was Struck by Sanasaryan
On October 15, the mother of a 9-year-old boy who was reportedly struck by Davit Sanasaryan (whose powers have been temporarily suspended) filed a complaint with the Arabkir Police Department. This was confirmed to NEWS.am by the police.
The boy's mother’s lawyer, Tigran Atanesyan, stated that the child will be referred to a forensic medical examination, after which a decision will be made on whether to initiate a criminal case.
When asked why the mother decided to file a complaint a month after the incident, the lawyer replied, "They saw that they were facing injustice and found it appropriate to appeal."
It is noteworthy that the police department in Arabkir is preparing materials and taking relevant measures based on media reports and publications circulated online regarding the incident involving Davit Sanasaryan. The incident occurred on September 12 in one of the courtyards located at 4 Kievyan Street.
According to media reports, the mother transferred her child to the 'Armenia' Republican Medical Center, where Davit Sanasaryan also visited and reached an agreement with the doctors not to inform the police about the incident, meaning it wouldn’t be recorded as a hit-and-run but rather as an injury sustained while playing in the yard.
Davit Sanasaryan initially denied any involvement in the incident, labeling it as “another rumor.” However, after Analitik.am released a video where the 9-year-old boy and his mother provide details about the incident, Sanasaryan did not deny his connection to the events.
According to Sanasaryan, the child touched his car while jumping from a stone and subsequently fell to the ground. He also claimed he inquired about the boy's health out of humanitarian concern and visited the medical facility with them twice.
“I inform you that two days later, that woman (the child's mother) demanded 300,000 drams from me, threatening that if I didn’t pay, she would inform the media that I had struck her child. When I told her that I would not give any money, she said she would notify the media,” Sanasaryan wrote.
The former official announced that he would file a complaint regarding the crime, citing extortion.
