David Tonoyan Observes Peacekeepers' Drills
On October 15, at the Armenian Ministry of Defense's "Zar" training center, a military exercise was conducted involving one of the peacekeeping battalions of the Armenian Armed Forces, an engineering-sapper unit, and the military's field mobile hospital.
The exercise aimed to pass an assessment according to NATO standards and to obtain certification for participation in international peacekeeping missions. The primary focus was on harmonizing the operational capabilities of these units in a multinational environment and improving field preparedness.
Armenian Minister of Defense David Tonoyan observed the practical exercises, which were attended by observers from NATO member states. The minister engaged in discussions with international observers, inquiring about their impressions of the personnel's actions.
According to the exercise scenario, one peacekeeping battalion of the Armenian Armed Forces and the engineering-sapper unit conducted a peacekeeping operation, while the mobile field hospital provided medical support for their actions.
As part of the training aimed at qualifying the involved units, various tactical scenarios encountered during international peacekeeping operations were simulated.
At the deployed field mobile hospital, conditional triage of simulated wounded individuals was conducted, ensuring necessary medical assistance according to the severity of injuries, helicopter evacuations, and other operational measures.
