7 Killed and 69 Injured: Kurdish Response to Turkish Attacks

The Kurds are responding to the "Operation Peace Spring" initiated by the Turkish Armed Forces against them in Syrian territory. Kurdish forces in Syria have shelled the Kurdish-majority provinces of Mardin and Şanlıurfa near the Turkish border, resulting in civilian casualties in both provinces.

According to a Turkish source referencing announcements from the provincial governorates of Mardin and Şanlıurfa, the number of injured in the shelling has reached 69, while the death toll stands at 7. Among the injured, 45 are from Şanlıurfa and 24 from Mardin. Notably, one of the seven fatalities was a Syrian child.

On the day prior, Kurdish forces also opened fire on the regions of Akçakale and Ceylanpınar along the Turkish-Syrian border. It is worth noting that the military operation against the Kurds began on October 9th. The Turkish military's incursion into Syria occurred as American troops withdrew from the eastern part of the Euphrates River.
