Murder in Geghanisht Revealed (Video)

On the night of October 11, a 31-year-old man from Geghanisht village was admitted to the Astghik Medical Center with multiple gunshot wounds. Shortly after being hospitalized, the man passed away without regaining consciousness. Police officers who arrived at the hospital determined that the incident occurred in the village of Geghanisht in the Ararat region.

Investigative efforts into this particularly serious crime were carried out by the criminal investigation department of the Yerevan police, along with personnel from the Ararat regional department and the Masis division. Through joint measures, factual data was obtained indicating that a 34-year-old man from Geghanisht shot the 31-year-old victim with a hunting rifle on Central Street in Geghanisht village.

Blood-like traces and spent casings were found at the scene. Expert examinations were ordered. Alongside measures to locate the suspect, explanatory efforts were conducted. As a result, on the following day, October 12, around 5:40 PM, the suspect came to the Masis police department, presenting a “Walther” type hunting rifle, which, according to preliminary data, is the weapon used in the crime.

The man was introduced to the investigative body handling the case and was arrested. Operational-investigative measures continue to clarify the circumstances of the incident. An investigation is underway.
