Another Suspect Identified in Armed Incident in Vanadzor

The investigation into the armed incident that took place in Vanadzor continues at the Lori Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee. Two individuals suspected of committing the alleged crime have been detained.

As previously reported, on October 4, 2019, the bodies of two young men born in 1989 were found in the basement of a house on Michurini Street in Vanadzor with gunshot wounds. Additionally, six residents from the same address, aged between 1994 and 1980, were transported to the Vanadzor Medical Center with various bodily injuries. One of them, a young man born in 1994, died on the way to the hospital.

Through necessary investigative and procedural actions taken in connection with the criminal case initiated by the Lori Regional Investigative Department, several circumstances of the case have been clarified, including the identity of those who allegedly committed the crime. One of the suspects, a 1973-born resident of Vanadzor, has been arrested on suspicion of murder. He has been charged under the first clause of the second part of Article 104 of the RA Criminal Code, and preventive restraint has been applied in the form of detention.

On October 11, as a result of necessary investigative actions and operational intelligence measures, another individual involved in the alleged crime was identified. This person is the nephew of the 1973-born resident and is also a resident of Vanadzor, born in 1980. He has also been charged under the first clause of the second part of Article 104 of the RA Criminal Code, and preventive restraint has been applied in the form of detention.

The investigation is ongoing.
