Intense Fighting in Major Kurdish-Centric Cities in Syria: Turkish Side Reports 94 Deaths and 80 Wounded
Expert on Turkish-Kurdish issues Karen Hovhannisyan has provided data on the major Kurdish-populated cities in Syria that are currently in the line of Turkish military operations. According to this information, heavy fighting continues in Tal Abyad and Silok, where the Turkish army is utilizing all possible military technology and equipment. Clashes also persist near the villages of Tal Finder and Yapesi.
The Turkish army and armed groups backed by Turkey have reported 11 casualties, while the Kurdish side has two killed and five wounded. Sirikanie remains besieged, and Kurdish forces are preventing armed groups from entering the city. Attempts are being made to break the siege. The Turkish side and its allies have reported 94 deaths and 80 injuries, while the Kurdish side has 20 dead and 24 wounded.
Fighting is currently taking place near the villages of Tal Hellef, Elezizie, Tal Erkem, Qirab Benat, Tal Ghennizer, and Divera. In Kobani, the Kurdish forces have succeeded in eliminating a stronghold of groups supported by Turkish forces, along with their entire arsenal. The Turkish-backed groups have reported one casualty. The village of Eli Shar is currently under artillery fire.
Amude and Dibersiye areas were attacked around noon. The Kurdish side reports one casualty, but they have also neutralized a stronghold and destroyed a BMB type armored vehicle here. In Qamishlo, the Turkish army and its allied military groups engaged in combat with the Kurds on the outskirts of the city, successfully neutralizing the assault on the city by the Kurds. In the village of Segira, a Turkish army armored vehicle was destroyed, and there are reports of significant casualties, though exact numbers are not yet available.
In Qamishlo, ISIS militants carried out an explosion near one of the restaurants, resulting in the deaths of six civilians. In Derik, the Turkish army attempted to enter but encountered resistance near the village of Kesir, resulting in losses and halting their advance. The Turkish army lost six soldiers, and 23 were injured.
Heavy fighting has also occurred near Jaroudie and the Babile (Jazira Botthan region) village. In Deryka Beravi, the Kurds have succeeded in neutralizing the Turkish military presence, eliminating another stronghold. The Turkish side reports six deaths and 21 injuries.
