Sevan's Powerlifter Sets Guinness World Record by Lifting 23-Ton Wagon with Middle Finger
Sevan's powerlifter and international competition winner Varazdat Hakobyan has set a Guinness World Record by lifting a 23-ton wagon using just his middle finger in Sevan city. According to Armenpress, the event was attended by Gegharkunik Governor Gnel Sanosyan, Sevan Mayor Sargis Muradyan, Armenian Association of Guinness World Records President Vardan Tovmasyan, President of the Armenian Powerlifting Federation Gagik Saroyan, city hall employees, athletes, and private citizens.
Varazdat Hakobyan lifted the 23-ton wagon at the Sevan railway station on his first attempt, earning enthusiastic applause from those present. Vardan Tovmasyan was the first to congratulate him, simultaneously registering the record.
“Until now, Gegharkunik province had produced two record holders who lifted trains using their waists and hips. Now, Varazdat Hakobyan joins them, setting a record with his middle finger. Your province has a reason to feel proud,” highlighted Vardan Tovmasyan.
Governor Gnel Sanosyan also welcomed and congratulated the record holder. “This is not the first time our athletes have shown their superhuman strength, and I am confident that we will have new achievements in sports in the near future. I congratulate everyone on this record and believe that our talented Varazdat will achieve many victories and keep the pride of our province high for a long time,” noted Gnel Sanosyan.
Gagik Saroyan, the President of the Armenian Powerlifting Federation, presented letters of gratitude from the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sport to Governor Gnel Sanosyan, Mayor Sargis Muradyan, and Artem Sargsyan, head of the Sevan branch of the South Caucasus Railways Company, for their support and assistance in Varazdat Hakobyan's sports success.
