VIDEO: Armenia Condemns Turkey's Incursion into Syria, Says Pashinyan
The Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, addressed the situation in Syria at the start of the government meeting today:
“As you are aware, yesterday the Turkish armed forces invaded the Syrian Arab Republic. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia has already issued a relevant statement. I want to emphasize once again that the Republic of Armenia condemns this act of incursion. We are concerned about the situation, as in our assessment, this action will further deepen the humanitarian crisis established in Syria. We call on the international community to take effective measures to halt these illegal actions and to protect Syrian citizens along the border with Turkey, including national minorities and their rights,” he stated.
Pashinyan highlighted that Armenia is carrying out a humanitarian mission in Syria successfully and mentioned that Armenia will continue to perform this mission.
According to the Prime Minister, it makes sense for them to have a closed-door discussion after today's cabinet meeting agenda is exhausted, exchanging views on possible developments regarding the situation in northern Syria and Armenia's positions on the matter.
