Hey, European Union, wake up. Erdogan threatens to open the gates and send 3.6 million refugees to Europe
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan responded to international reactions regarding Turkey's military operation dubbed "Peace Spring" launched in northern Syria during a meeting at the central office of the ruling Justice and Development Party, reports ermenihaber.am.
"Our issue is with terrorist organizations such as the Islamic State, the People’s Protection Units, and the Democratic Union Party, which are trying to seize Syria. We have no problem with our Kurdish brothers," he stated.
Erdogan then addressed the EU’s condemnation of the military operation, saying, "Hey, European Union, wake up! If you are trying to characterize our military operation as an invasion, then we can easily open the gates and send 3.6 million refugees (currently sheltered in Turkey) to you."
