Customs Procedures for Certain Groups of Vehicles to be Conducted at the Northern Customs Office
In order to smoothly carry out customs operations for vehicles imported into Armenia, the process will be organized in phases in the city of Gyumri. Starting from October 14, the State Revenue Committee will begin customs procedures for certain groups of vehicles at the Northern Customs Office.
This was reported by the Public Relations Division of the State Revenue Committee. Thus, customs clearance for light passenger vehicles exported from Georgia and Japan and imported into Armenia from October 14 will be conducted at the Northern Customs Office in Gyumri, or, if they crossed the border at the Armenian-Iranian section, at the Southern Customs Office in Sisian.
This applies only to vehicles classified under commodity group 8703 in the foreign economic activity nomenclature, but does not include vehicles transported in containers. The commodity group 8703 covers passenger vehicles (including freight passenger) designed to carry up to 10 people.
Customs procedures for other vehicles will still be carried out in a decentralized manner at the customs office preferred by the declarant. These include motor vehicles designed to carry 10 or more people (including the driver), classified under commodity group 8702, trucks classified under group 8704, and special-purpose vehicles classified under group 8705, as well as those vehicles in group 8703 that are transported in containers.
As the construction of the External Economic Activity Service Center in Gyumri nears completion, all functions related to customs clearance of vehicles will be fully relocated here.
