VIDEO: Banners Reading 'Art of Whimpering' Seized by Court Officials During Kocharyan Case Hearing

During the opening of the court hearing for the case involving the second President of Armenia Robert Kocharyan and others, an incident occurred between supporters of Kocharyan present in the courtroom and supporters of the prosecution.

As Robert Kocharyan entered the courtroom, his supporters chanted "Kocharyan is a hero," which prompted responses from the prosecution's supporters, who began to whistle and argue with Kocharyan's supporters.

Afterward, Kocharyan's supporters held up banners featuring a photo of presiding Judge Anna Danibekyan along with the text "art of whimpering," as well as posters depicting Narek Mutafyan and Sargis Ohanyan, who were detained for showing disrespect towards Judge Danibekyan. The posters presented the young men as political prisoners. Court officials seized the banners from the supporters.

It is noteworthy that on the evening of September 27, Judge Anna Danibekyan, who is handling the criminal case against Robert Kocharyan and others, was approached by young people, including Narek Mutafyan, while she was on foot en route to the Shengavit Court.

Mutafyan was participating in protests in support of Robert Kocharyan outside the Shengavit Court. During a Facebook Live broadcast, he repeatedly asked Judge Danibekyan whether she was on the "list of whimpering judges." Following the incident, a report about a crime was filed, and a criminal case was initiated against Narek Mutafyan and Sargis Ohanyan. They are accused of interfering with the court's activities with the intent to obstruct the administration of justice. The court decided to impose pre-trial detention as a measure of restraint for the two youths.
