On March 1, Robert Kocharian Did Not Give Me Any Orders, Says Seyran Ohanyan
It is unacceptable for me when one of the presidents who has shaped 30 years of history is in detention, said former Minister of Defense Seyran Ohanyan in an interview with journalists, speaking about Robert Kocharian.
“It is possible to allow him to be in freedom, especially since Robert Kocharian has shown that he has calmly and confidently come forward and fulfilled any requirements placed upon him,” he stated.
Ohanyan emphasized that the second president of Armenia cannot obstruct anything. “Especially since the investigative body has done its job. Those individuals who have provided testimonies corresponding to various types of situations are responsible for their own statements. I do not think he can have any relation with them or influence them in any way,” Seyran Ohanyan said.
The former Minister of Defense added that Robert Kocharian has had no contact with the thousands of servicemen who provided testimonies. “I have been one of the closest people, as the Chief of General Staff; Robert Kocharian did not give me any advice or orders, especially not to others,” Ohanyan noted.
