Ohanyan to Travel to Germany for Leg Prosthesis

In 2011, I acquired a prosthetic leg, and since then, I have traveled to Germany three times for its maintenance, every two years. This was stated today during a press conference by former Minister of Defense Seyran Ohanyan, who is also one of the accused in the 'March 1' case.

“This is a type of prosthesis that can only be serviced in Germany. Even the branches that this clinic has in Moscow cannot provide the necessary maintenance. I will be leaving for a few days and will return afterward. Tomorrow, I am going to the German embassy. I believe that based on the documents I have submitted, I will receive permission,” said Ohanyan.

Addressing the calls from public and political figures to release Robert Kocharyan, Ohanyan noted that it is unacceptable for one of the presidents who shaped 30 years of history to be in detention. “I think it is permissible to allow the second president to be in freedom, especially since Kocharyan has already shown that he would calmly come to present himself. I believe that if Kocharyan is free, he will not be able to obstruct anything.

Especially since the preliminary investigation body has performed its duties calmly, those people who have given testimonies own their testimonies. I do not think Kocharyan can have any connection with them or influence them in any way,” Ohanyan stated.

In response to the question of how Kocharyan's detention affects the security of the two countries and what threat it may pose, as mentioned in the above statement, Ohanyan replied, “I do not know.”

Regarding the resignation of former NSS chief Arthur Vanetsyan, he pointed out that resignations from appointed positions are unacceptable. “There is a staffing policy in the country, and the leadership of the country should be asked why people are appointed or dismissed,” he emphasized.
