Debate in the ‘My Step’ Faction
The newspaper ‘Hraparak’ reports that the National Assembly yesterday voted in the first reading on a legislative proposal to remove the Dermatology and Venereology Scientific Medical Center, included in the privatization list since 2017, from that list. The voting results were remarkable as they highlighted the existing contradictions within the ruling team.
The author of the proposal is My Step MP Narek Zeynalyan. The justification is that the mentioned medical facility is unique in its format and should not be privatized. However, the Ministry of Health, represented by Arsen Torosyan, has provided a negative conclusion on the proposal. According to rumors, the minister has agreements regarding the privatization of the hospital.
The Zeynalyan-Torosyan conflict is not new, as their opinions often clash. It was previously announced that the ‘My Step’ faction was free to vote, resulting in 77 votes in favor, 4 against, and 22 abstaining. Those opposing were My Step MPs Arsen Julfalakyan, Hayk Sargsyan, Karen Hambardzumyan, and independent MP Arman Babajanyan. The abstainers included Makunts, Andranik Kocharyan, Arman Yeghoyan, Mkhitar Hayrapetyan, Hamazasp Danielyan, Vahagn Tevosyan, Vahagn Hovakimyan, and others.
